Benefits of Baduanjin

The ancients compared this set of movements to 'brocade,' meaning colorful, beautiful, and magnificent. It reflects the graceful and elegant motions, regarded as 'excellent for disease prevention and health improvement, exquisitely arranged, with perfect movements.' This practice is divided into eight sections, with one movement in each section, hence the name 'Eight Brocade Exercises.' As a traditional health-preserving practice, it offers many benefits to the human body, including softening tendons and strengthening bones, nourishing qi and enhancing strength, promoting the flow of qi and blood, unblocking the meridians, increasing joint flexibility, and coordinating the functions of the five organs and six viscera.
